New design chosen as one of "10 Great iPad Cases"

One of my newest creations was chosen by Apartment Therapy Unplgged (www.unplggd.com) for their February 15, 2010 post "10 Great iPad Cases". You can read this post at:

Three new iPod iPhone iTouch cases that I consider part of my unisex / manly / masculine line. Based on my superficial research online, there seems to be a lack of HANDMADE fabric gadget sleeves designed for men in mind. I hope that men will find these "manly" enough for them.

Challenges in photographing fabric iPod cases & sleeves

These are my 3 latest iPod / gadget cases. Some fabrics show very nicely in a photo, some simply don't no matter how many shots you take. For example, the multicolor case below is made of a beautiful decorator fabric, but the photo just doesn't do it justice. In fact, it looks rather boring in the photo. And that is only after I used Photoshop effects to accentuate its colors, otherwise it would have looked even paler.
The green canvas case below was a little tricky too - the lighting has to be just right for the green to appear green in a photo. The red burlap case, on the other hand, shows up beautifully in a photo, without any adjustment.

Unisex Apple iPad case - Multicolor wool-blend fabric

I really like this new iPad case I created last night. I like the soft wool-blend fabric and the different colors; it's professional and casual at the same time, a combination not always easy to achieve. The main compartment of the sleeve is lined with wool felt, and the outside pocket is lined with a beige cotton fabric. I will be posting this latest iPad carrying case on my Etsy shop shortly http://www.etsy.com/shop/belvidesigns.

Apple iPad protective carrying case - Unisex denim fabric

I've been perfecting my case/sleeve design for the new Apple iPad. As a practical type, I tend to focus more on functionality at first; but as a designer, I try to take into consideration both looks and functionality, which is not always easily achieved. But with every new creation, I get closer to what I consider to be a good combination -- an iPad case that is convenient, secured, light yet offering enough protection, visually pleasing, practical, and affordable. Here is my latest offering. More information at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/belvidesigns

iPod cases for Spring and Summer... flip flops, beach sandals

If you haven't had a chance to check out the new flip-flops designs I mentioned in yesterday's post, here are a couple of photos... I have dozens of ideas swirling in my head at any given time, I just need more time to make them into a reality... One change I need to make to the flip flops is to enlarge the drawings so that they show up better on the iPod cases. iPod iPhone case / sleeve design - Pink coffee cup

I am very excited about this new coffee-cup design I created yesterday. I also created two other iPod cases with drawings of flip flops yesterday, which you can see on my Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/belvidesigns. You will love these colorful flip flops... check them out!
By the way, I am putting a copyrights note on my photos now since I just noticed a couple of Chinese sites copying and displaying my photos without linking them back to Flickr, the source. Not sure if my effort will do anything, though.

Protect your Apple iPod or iPhone... in style!

Created these two new designs yesterday. The cupcake and the martini are digital drawings printed on printable canvas (canvas with an adhesive paper backing) ; I only learned about this medium recently - stumbled upon them while browsing in a craft store one day. For a designer, discovering a new medium is like a child opening presents on Christmas morning, very exciting. So I've been happily experimenting... You can see other ones on my etsy shop:
