It has been a very busy October, partly because I spent a week learning to make something completely new that entails zippers and cornering zippers. This involves 4 book covers for a special friend of my Mom's. I completed one last night that's in a half-way decent shape, now I got to refine it further, and then I have to make the other 3. I hope to share some photos later.
I was also involved in a Fall Fair at a private school fund-raising day, which turned out to be a complete waste of time. I should have known that when you do something for the wrong reason (in this case the potential to make a few dollars from the rich parents at a fancy school), you will always come out the loser (loser with double Ls"). It still infuriates me to think of wasting a WHOLE day of precious time. You live and learn...
In the meantime, I want to share a few recent beautiful creations:

Masculine plaid iPhone 4S iPhone 4 Droid case / wallet with credit card pocket - Navy blue green yellow white fabric with leather
I decided to try a new design for a Apple iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S / Droid case. I have the opening of this case on a long side of the case instead of my usual cases that open on one of the short sides. I am pleased with the way it turned out. I especially like the outside pocket that's perfect for an ID and a couple of credit cards. I also made the Velcro-equipped leather closure tab a little wider than usual to accommodate the wider opening. The navy-blue-dominant plaid makes for a great gift for a guy!

Steve Jobs - The greatest modern-day visionary, innovator, and genius... We will miss you
October 5, 2011 was an enormously sad day for our world -- we lost an incredible human being... I cry very time I listen to Steve's Stanford commencement speech (links to the video and the text of the speech are below). I highly recommend that you check them out, if you haven't already.

iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S / iPhone case with credit card pocket - Light grey / white / green plaid
This iPhone 4 case is a custom request for a customer of my Etsy shop Belvidesigns.
The outer layer of this case is a plaid fabric with shades of light-grey, white, and green, interfaced and then lined with a light-gray wool-blend felt. The Velcro-equipped closure tab is made of the same felt. There is a handy outside pocket that's great for an ID or a couple of credit cards. It's the perfect unisex case!

iPad 2 or iPad 1 case - Musical instruments colorful fabric - Unisex or masculine
I fell in love with the fabric the minute I saw it -- it's a very crisp and vibrant cotton fabric. This iPad case is interfaced for structure and protection, and lined with black felt. The Velcro-equipped closure flap is made of a heavy cotton webbing. I love how it turned out!
