The other night my husband and I were coming up with some common sayings that people use on a daily basis and we were discussing which ones we really like. This exercise gave me the idea to put some these sayings on the face of an Apple iPad case for my Belvidesigns shop on Etsy. So here is the result of my first iPad cover and I named it "It is what it is".
In addition to making the sleeve itself, I had to first print the the idioms on a photo fabric sheet (It's made of cotton twill) and then sew it onto the cover of the sleeve. I also put the Velcro closure on the inside of the sleeve so that it doesn't distract from the front cover. Of course, as soon as I was done, I thought of another saying that I really like, which I will include in the next case I make. The case shown here is very sturdy and padded to provide ample protection for an iPad. I like this one so much I may use it for my own iPad.
This beautiful heart-shape keychain was inspired by my own journey of following my heart that has led to a much happier, peaceful, and healthier life. I will be fashioning some pendants after this keyring for my prettydecor4u shop on Etsy.
I made an iPhone 4 case with this diamond-print fabric yesterday, I liked it so much that today I made an iPad case using the same material. It's interfaced for structure and stability, and lined with a soft anti-pilling navy fleece. It comes with Velcro closure on a thick brown/tan suede leather strap (cut from remnants). It's very handsome and professional-looking. The Apple iPad fits perfectly in this cover.
I saw these fabrics in the store yesterday and I just couldn't resist them. The green and white floral one is absolutely stunning. Even though Summer is officially over in North America, I like this fabric so much that I decided to make an iPhone 4 case out of it anyway. To make it less "summery", I paired it with a dark-green upholstery fabric. The combination came out beautifully! The blue and gold diamond-print one is very very handsome, especially for the Fall and Winter seasons. It's very masculine and professional-looking.
The green and white floral case is lined with a matching light-green fleece, while the blue one is lined with a navy or deep-blue fleece. The iPhone 4 (without the bumper) fits snugly and perfectly in both of these sleeves; best of all, it's very easy to get the phone in and out of the cases. As you know, this blog is devoted primarily to bags, cases, sleeves, pouches for gadgets such as the Apple iPad, iPhone 4, iPod, Droid 2, etc. for my Etsy shops Belvidesigns and ibagsnmore, but I sometimes will share other creations with you here.
I've been thinking of creating jewelry pieces that convey expressions in words instead of or on top of using colors and textures, and I've been experimenting with different media. I think I may have found just the right medium. Below is the first of my "Love is..." series of jewelry (It's also known as the "Meaning of Love" series). I am really excited about this new outlet for my creative energy and ideas!!! The pendant is cut out of thick leather remnants, on which I then hand-stamped the words and design.
This is a custom request for one of my customers on my Etsy shop. It's black leather lined with a soft check fabric. It's designed to provide a snug and perfect fit for an iPhone 4 with the bumper on. A Droid 2 would also fit nicely in this simple case.
This is a lovely brocade that I just couldn't pass up in the fabric store. It's designed to be a bit crinkled, which makes it even more interesting. I lined the case with a brown wool-blend felt. It's designed to fit an iPhone 4 with the bumper (or without for a looser fit) and a Droid 2.
I am very excited about these new additions to my Etsy shops - belvidesigns and ibagsnmore. The plaid one is good for both the iPhone 4 (with or without the bumper) AND the Droid 2. The other 3 are only suitable for the iPhone 4 (without the bumper). The leather ones are a perfect and snug fit for the iPhone 4.
I am not usually a big fan of paisley, but this particular one has a mixture of very interesting colors. I especially like the rich burgundy and the green in it. It's a beautiful fabric. The case is lined with a brown wool-blend felt, and the Velcro closure strap is also made of the same felt. The iPhone 4 fits snugly without the bumper on.
I like combining different colors of leather to come up with a finished product. You can say that I experiment a lot. Here is a recent example. The leather is very soft and the lining is an off-white/grey wool felt. The case comes with Velcro closure. This will be listed on my ibagsnmore shop on Etsy.

This is such a cheerful color combination... it reminds me of festive holidays. A few months ago I had a couple of customers who fell in love with this fabric and bought up whatever I had in the shop that was made of this fabric. I ran out of the material just as even more people became interested in it. A few weeks ago I saw its reappearance in my favorite fabric store, which is how I managed to create this cutie today.
Just completed these two sleeves / cases for the Apple iPhone 4 or the Droid 2 for my Belvidesigns shop on Etsy. The outer layer is a 100% wool felt-like fabric, lined with a blended upholstery material inside. The outside pocket is made of the same fabric as the main sleeve. The only difference between the two cases is the color of the the outer fabric used. Both cases are sized to fit the Droid 2 or the iPhone 4 with the Apple bumper on (although it would work without the bumper also, it would only be a slightly looser fit). The cases are equipped with a Velcro closure on a coordinating leather strap.
